MGCCC releases football schedule

UPDATE: The homecoming game on Oct. 27 will now start at 2 p.m.

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast opens the 2018 football season under new head coach Jack Wright at home on Aug. 30.

Mississippi Delta will make the trip to Perkinston for the second straight year for a 7 p.m. kickoff. All home games are Thursday games at that time, except for homecoming against Hinds the last week of the regular season. Homecoming will kick off at 2 p.m. on Oct. 27.

The 2018 schedule alternates home and away each week, with five played at A.L. May Memorial Stadium.

Gulf Coast's other home games are against Holmes (Sept. 13), Copiah-Lincoln (Sept. 27) and East Central (Oct. 11).

The Bulldogs' road games are at Coahoma (Sept. 6), Jones County (Sept. 20), Southwest (Oct. 4) and Pearl River (Oct. 20). All those games start at 7 p.m. on Thursdays except for a Saturday game at Pearl River, which is at 2 p.m.
