PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast forward Tedrian Brisco has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at NCAA Division II Arkansas-Monticello.
The 6-foot-5, 196-pounder from Vicksburg averaged 12.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore. The Bulldogs went 19-7 in each of his seasons at Perkinston.
That's one of the reasons he chose to play for the Boll Weevils, who went to the NCAA Tournament last season.
"They fit my style of play, and they like to win," he said. "They have a good team. They made it to the national tournament last year. I love to win, so I put myself with a winning program."
Brisco had an unconventional path to this point. He was an athletic aide, filming games for the coaches before earning a spot on the team. That's all part of the journey for him as he heads to the next level.
"I learned a lot of life lessons," he said. "I learned hard work pays off and dreams come true. Just keep pushing and striving for everything you want in life. "
