Golfers ranked fourth in latest national poll

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast has dropped two spots in the latest Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll, released Friday.

 

The Bulldogs are now ranked fourth, behind Tyler, Murray State and South Mountain. Gulf Coast has the highest ranking among three MACJC schools in the top 10.

 

Copiah-Lincoln is fifth, and Meridian is sixth.

 

Gulf Coast plays Monday and Tuesday in the Carey Collegiate Classic. The tournament will be played at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg.

 

The Carey Classic field includes four NAIA schools (William Carey, Bethel, Loyola New Orleans, Coastal Georgia), two NCAA Division II schools (Spring Hill, Mississippi College) and fellow MACJC member East Central.
