Mississippi Gulf Coast's Brice Wilkinson and Jon Hopkins shared medalist honors, powering the No. 2 Bulldogs to a 33-shot win in the second MACJC event of the season Tuesday in Amory.
"We played really well both days," Gulf Coast coach Tommy Snell said. "We had everybody in the top six. It was good."
MGCCC finished 16-under at Ackia Golf Club to finish well ahead of host Itawamba. Meridian was third at 26-over.
"I think it really shows how good we are this year, and how we're looking forward to maybe another national championship," Wilkinson said. "The team's looking pretty good."
Hopkins (Fr., Hockerill Anglo-European College/Bishops Stortford, England) shot 2-under 70 in the final round to close a one-shot deficit to Wilkinson (So., Madison Central/Madison).
"I played alright, but I didn't putt very well," Hopkins said. "I played quite good tee to green."
Carter Nicholson (So., Pearl River Central/Carriere) finished at 3-under and tied for third, and Nathan Woolard (Fr., Poplar Bluff/Poplar Bluff, Mo.) was the fourth MGCCC player to make the All-Tournament Team another shot back.
