PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast won its second straight men's match of the new season Friday, and the Bulldogs still have dropped a singles or doubles match.
Gulf Coast beat Holmes 9-0 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
"We mixed up the lineup from Monday to get everybody some experience before we get into the meat of the schedule," Bulldogs coach Gary Bourgeois said. "I'm very happy with those guys."
Austin Vos (So., Perth Australia/Applecross) won both his matches, including his No. 1 singles match over Dallas Elmore 6-0, 6-0. Nicolas Bettignie (Fr., Brussels Belgium/Mater Dei Instituut) and Clint Verrett (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport) didn't lose a game in their singles matches, either.
"They're focused," Bourgeois said. "They know our goals, short-term and long-term. I think they understand what the process is going to be to get there."
The Bulldogs travel to Southwest on Tuesday. The Bears have brought back tennis after a hiatus of several years. Matches will be played at Fernwood Country Club.
