PERKINSTON — No. 6 Mississippi Gulf Coast looks to extend its five-game winning streak Monday when Northeast visits South Mississippi.

The Lady Bulldogs (18-7, 7-1 MACJC) entertain the Lady Tigers (17-9, 5-3) at Biloxi High School. The doubleheader starts at 4 p.m. Biloxi is one of three high schools Gulf Coast is playing its home games at while Ross-Smith Field is getting a new stadium.

Northeast broke a three-game skid Friday by sweeping Pearl River at Poplarville.

Lexie Mathis (So, Mobile, Ala./Baker) is leading the Lady Bulldogs with a .425 batting average and 17 RBI, and she's getting on base more than 55 percent of the time. She has multiple hits in every game of the five-game win streak, and has tripled in three straight.
