Tobias scores 17 in MGCCC loss

PERKINSTON — Shaniqua Tobias had 17 points for Mississippi Gulf Coast, which lost 76-51 to No. 16 Jones County on Thursday at the Weathers/Wentzell Center.

 

The Lady Bulldogs fall to 7-14, 1-11 MACJC South. JCJC is 20-1, 11-1.

 

Tobias (5-6, So, New Orleans/Warren Easton) was the only Gulf Coast player in double digits. MiMi Bishop (6-0, Fr., Madison /Madison Central), Kim Calhoun (5-11, So, Gulfport/West Harrison) and Keiara Williams (6-1, Fr., New Orleans/Warren Easton) each had seven.

 

Eanna Sims (5-11, Fr., Jackson/Forest Hill) led Gulf Coast with nine rebounds, with Williams grabbing seven.

 

Gulf Coast plays its last road game of the season Monday, when it travels to Pearl River. Tipoff is at

 

Sophomore night will be celebrated Feb. 23 against Southwest. That game also starts at 5:30.
