PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast guard Briana Thompson has signed to continue her college basketball career at NCAA Division II Lane College.
Thompson, who played high school ball at Wingfield in Jackson, played in 48 games during her Lady Bulldogs career. She averaged 3.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.8 steals per game.
Her biggest game as a sophomore came in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament semifinals when her three 3-pointers helped swing a five-point fourth-quarter deficit into a 64-59 win.
The Lady Dragons play in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Under fourth-year head coach Kimberly Anderson, Lane went to its first-ever NCAA Tournament after winning the SIAC Tournament.
