Mississippi Gulf Coast used some stifling defense and another double-double from Daphane White to defeat Delgado 41-31 in New Orleans on Monday.
"It wasn't the prettiest win, but we'll take it," Bulldogs coach Hope Adams said. "Tonight was a night we started working in some players who have been injured."
White, a sophomore center from St. Martin, had 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs, who have won their first seven games. She was the only Gulf Coast player in double-digits.
Kayla Simmons (So., Brandon/Brandon) had five points and four rebounds in her first action of the season.
The Bulldogs rallied from a six-point deficit at the end of the first quarter to lead 21-19 at halftime. They held the Dolphins to four points in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Gulf Coast returns to action Saturday at Perkinston. The Bulldogs host Gadsden State, with tipoff set for 2 p.m. at the Weathers-Wentzell Center.
