PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast and Southwest women's soccer teams battled to a 1-1 tie that not even two overtime periods could settle Thursday at Bary Thrash Field.
Isabella Weaver (Fr., Vancleave/Vancleave) scored in the 51st minute to give the Bulldogs the lead, but it would last just over five minutes. Driade Moreira curled in an arcing shot from just outside the corner of the 18-yard box to tie things up.
Neither team could get another goal in the remaining time of the 90-minute regulation or two 10-minute extra periods.
Both teams were looking for their first wins of 2019, with the Bulldogs falling to 0-4-1, same as the Bears.
Gulf Coast returns to action Tuesday at Meridian. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. in the final game of the first half of MACJC South play.
