No. 18 Gulf Coast opens up with W

No. 18 Mississippi Gulf Coast went on the road Friday and downed No. 20 East Central 6-3 in Decatur.

The Bulldogs won two of three doubles matches, with Krissy Georgieva (Fr., Epsom and Ewell High School/Sutton, England) and Noni Charlton (Fr., Ipswich School/Ipswich, England) winning easily at No. 1. Tia Topps (Fr., Grenada/Grenada) and Chasity Snyder (Fr., Florence/Florence) edged out a point at No. 3.

Georgieva, Charlton and Topps won their singles matches, with Kaylen Bond (Fr., Stone/Perkinston) picking up her first point of the day at No. 4 singles.

Gulf Coast travels to play Itawamba on Saturday. First serves in Fulton will be at 11 a.m.
