Donica Cosby is a new assistant coach on the Gulf Coast women’s basketball staff in 2025-26, bringing professional playing experience to her first coaching job.

She played basketball in Europe from 2011 to 2025, winning championships in Finland, Belarus and Romania. She was the top guard in Portugal in 2012 and 2013 and earned Import of the Year honors in Lithuania in 2022. In 2023, she was MVP of the finals in Finland.

Cosby was a star player at Independence High in Coldwater, where she averaged 19 points, four rebounds and four assists as an All-State player. She earned All-Freshman Team honors in the SEC while playing at Arkansas in 2006-07, averaging 11.6 points and 2.6 rebounds.

She spent a year at Arkansas Fort Smith, averaging 10.6 points, 2.7 assists and 2.0 steals. After transferring to Oklahoma City, Cosby was a two-time NAIA All-American First Team selection., averaging 13.3 points, 3.9 assists and 2.0 steals.
