Chan wins 2nd MACJC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast forward Dedoch Chan has been named MACJC Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
Chan, freshman forward from Rochester, Minn., extended his streak of games scoring 20-plus points to eight by averaging 28.5 points and 14.5 rebounds as Mississippi Gulf Coast won twice on the road.
He poured in 33 points on 12-of-19 shooting and grabbed 17 rebounds in a 72-56 win at Meridian. In a 71-63 win at Jones County, he led a comeback from down 13 with 13 minutes to play and finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Chan is eligible to be named NJCAA Player of the Week. The award comes out Thursday, a day late this week because of the Presidents Day holiday.
