MGCCC’s Bourgeois picks up ITA award
Mississippi Gulf Coast tennis coach Gary Bourgeois was named Wilson/ITA Region III Women's Coach of the Year at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship banquet Monday night.
Bourgeois led the Lady Bulldogs to their first MACJC Championship since 1987. They went 13-1 and are competing at the national tournament this week in Tucson, Ariz.
He was named NJCAA Region 23 Coach of the Year, as well.
The men's team was MACJC/Region 23 runners-up, and the Bulldogs will compete in the national tournament in Plano, Texas, next week.
