Volleyball hits first serve Aug. 25

PERKINSTON — The second season in the modern era of Mississippi Gulf Coast volleyball will get underway Aug. 25 with a road trip to Alabama, followed by a home match the very next day.

Coach Shayna Walsh's Bulldogs will play at Coastal Alabama-South in Bay Minette to start play, with Southwest Mississippi visiting Dantzler Arena Aug. 26 for a non-conference showdown. Gulf Coast finished their inaugural season 16-15, earning a trip to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs have nine home dates on the schedule. They open MACCC play at home against Northwest Mississippi on Sept. 16, the first of nine home dates. Season passes for all Gulf Coast soccer matches, women's and men's, cost $45 plus fees for adults, with youth passes going for $25.

Single-game tickets purchased online cost $7 for adults and $5 for youth. At the gate, it's $10 for adults and $7 for youth. All online tickets can be purchased at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets.

The Bulldogs' only preseason exhibition game will be played Aug. 7 at William Carey University in Hattiesburg.
