Harris wins MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast wide receiver Jonathan Harris helped break open the Bulldogs' 45-7 win over Southwest Mississippi, and he broke free of the competition to win the MACCC Special Teams Player of the Week.
He won the award Tuesday in voting conducted by the conference among the schools' sports information directors.
The sophomore wide receiver from Hattiesburg ran back a 75-yard punt return just 30 seconds before halftime to send the Bulldogs into the locker room with a 21-7. He averaged 30.8 yards on four returns, and leads the country in average returns. He also had three catches for 32 yards.

Harris is now eligible for the NJCAA weekly award, which will be announced Wednesday.
