Bulldogs fall in Senatobia

Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 78-53 to Northwest Mississippi in women's basketball action Monday in Senatobia.

Elsie Harris (So., Mobile, Ala./B.C. Rain) had 13 points and three assists for the Bulldogs. Aniya Saddler (So., Columbus/Columbus) added 11 points and narrowly missed a double-double with nine rebounds.

Gulf Coast and Northwest were tied at 16 after the first quarter, but the Rangers (13-7, 7-4 MACCC) started pulling away before halftime and led by seven at the break.

The Bulldogs fall to 13-7, 5-6. They're now in a 10th-place tie in the conference. The top eight teams make the MACCC Tournament, but all 15 conference teams qualify for the Region 23 Tourney.

Gulf Coast will host Southwest Mississippi on Thursday at the Weathers-Wentzell Center. Tipoff in Perk will be at 6 p.m.
