Palisi wins NJCAA Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Alyssa Palisi is the third-leading goal scorer in the country, and her outburst last week earned her NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors.
The award was announced Wednesday by the national organization.
The freshman midfielder from Diamondhead had four goals and an assist in a 9-0 win at Copiah-Lincoln.
Her nine goals this season are the most in the MACCC and tied for third-most in NJCAA Division II.
Palisi is the first Bulldog to win a national soccer weekly award this season. She's the first Gulf Coast women's player to earn NJCAA honors since Kassady Walters won Goalkeeper of the Week in 2016.
