Gulf Coast finally back on the field

PERKINSTON — After a long Mother Nature-induced break, the Mississippi Gulf Coast baseball team will finally take the diamond against an opponent Tuesday.

The Bulldogs travel to Baton Rouge to play the Bears in a rematch of their last time out on the field. First pitch in the doubleheader at Pete Goldsby Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Records

  • MGCCC: 2-2
  • BRCC: 8-11

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC split with Baton Rouge way back on Feb. 13, losing the first game 13-10 before rebounding for an 8-5 win.
  • Baton Rouge was swept at Pearl River on Sunday, falling 6-5 and 10-0.

Previous Meeting

Gulf Coast bounced back from poor pitching in the first game to win behind three strong innings from Hayden Robb (Fr., Vancleave, Vancleave) and a three-run homer by Tucker Thomas (So., Biloxi, Biloxi).

  • Saturday, Feb. 29: vs. Illinois Central, Perkinston, 3/6 p.m.
  • Friday, March 6: vs. Northwest Florida State, noon/2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 10: vs. Nunez, 3/6 p.m.
