Gore snags NJCAA award
PERKINSTON — Isaiah Gore came up clutch for No. 6 Mississippi Gulf Coast last week, and he got some national publicity as a result.
The sophomore from Laurel helped the Bulldogs clinch the MACCC South championship by stopping five of six shots in a thrilling 2-1 win over No. 12 Pearl River.
He also split time in a 3-0 shutout at Southwest Mississippi.
Gore is the first Gulf Coast player to earn NJCAA weekly honors this season.
By winning the South, the Bulldogs earned the right to host the MACCC/Region 23 Tournament this weekend at Bary Thrash Field. They'll open the tournament by playing the archrival Wildcats at 11 a.m.
