PERKINSTON — No. 19 Mississippi Gulf Coast dominated Meridian on Friday, staying undefeated by winning 8-1 in the Bulldogs' fifth match of the season.

"I was really happy the way we came out," Gulf Coast coach Gary Bourgeois said. "We felt they were really going to come out with their A-game because of the rivalry we have with them. I think we met the challenge."

He shuffled the doubles lineup and it paid off to the tune of a sweep where Gulf Coast dropped only seven games.

Seth Macute (Fr., St Joseph's Nudgee College/Brisbane, Australia) and Wesley Fontaine (So., Biloxi/Biloxi) took over at No. 1 doubles, and Reid Crow (So., Wesson/Wesson) and Patrick Roth (So., Resurrection/Pascagoula) joined up at No. 2.

Clint Verrett (So., Gulfport/Gulfport) and Raymond Lam (Fr., Biloxi/Biloxi) won again at No. 3.

The Bulldogs won five of their six singles matches.
