Gulf Coast gets tune-up against WCU
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast got a great test Thursday in an exhibition match against four-year William Carey.
The Bulldogs fell 9-0 to the Crusaders, who are ranked fourth in the NAIA rankings, at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.
Seth Macute (Fr., St Joseph's Nudgee College/Brisbane, Australia) and Wesley Fontaine (So., Biloxi/Biloxi) provided the highlights for the Bulldogs. They were edged in their No. 1 doubles match 6-4 by Daniil Klimov and Hugo Robuchon.
Macute to Dominik Fritsche to three sets in No. 2 singles, withdrawing with an injury.
Gulf Coast returns to MACJC action Saturday with a showdown against Jones at Perk. First serves are set for 11 a.m.
