Bulldogs ranked No. 2 in softball
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast starts the 2021 softball season right where the Bulldogs ended the COVID-shortened 2020 season, at No. 2 in the NJCAA Division II rankings.
The Bulldogs were 14-0 when the season abruptly concluded last year, and they are loaded again.
Coach Eric Neel's team starts the season with two games Friday in the Youngsville Invitational in Louisiana, and two more to follow on Saturday. Gulf Coast's first home games will be Feb. 2 when Northwest Florida State visits Ross-Smith Field in Perkinston.
