MGCCC’s Blackburn signs with Troy
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast's Sam Blackburn has signed a scholarship to continue his collegiate tennis career at Troy University.
Blackburn, from Enterprise, Ala., completed his career with the Bulldogs by winning the No. 2 singles consolation bracket at the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Tournament. He also won the 2015 MACJC/Region 23 No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles championships, and finished this year ranked
Coach Gary Bourgeois' Gulf Coast team finished 12th at the 2015 national tournament and 16th this year. Blackburn was ranked 36th in the country at the end of this season, and he was named the 2015 ITA Region III Player to Watch.
