No. 18 MGCCC challenging for state title

PERKINSTON – No. 18 Mississippi Gulf Coast is in second place after the Thursday quarterfinals of the MACJC/Region 23 Tournament, being played at the MGCCC Tennis Complex.

The Bulldogs have eight of nine positions still alive in the semifinals. They have 16 points and trail Meridian.

The top three teams advance to the national championship. Singles state champions qualify, as well.

Gulf Coast's only loss of the day was a valiant one. Skyler Flowers tried playing with an injured shoulder but fell in straight sets.
