Torrey’s 4 TD earn MACJC honors
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast running back Deandre Torrey, who had four touchdowns in the Bulldogs' season-opening victory, has been named MACJC Offensive Player of the Week.
The freshman from Gautier ran for 189 yards on 21 attempts in Gulf Coast's 42-41 win over Itawamba. He averaged 9.0 yards and had touchdown runs of 4, 18, 15 and 46 yards.
The Bulldogs return to action Thursday when they travel to Scooba to play No. 2 East Mississippi. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
