Gold takes lead in World Series
PERKINSTON — Led by Champ Davison's three RBI, the Gold team won Game 1 of the Blue-Gold World Series 10-5 Monday afternoon at Ken "Curly" Farris Field. It's the first of three intrasquad games to close out the Mississippi Gulf Coast baseball team's fall season.
Davison went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base, and Donald Stokes had a home run, a double and two RBI for the Gold. Chase Fagan, Aaron Nicholson and Logan McGrew chipped in two hits each to help Ty Barnes get the victory on the mound with three innings of two-hit work.
Jacob Bullock had three hits for the Blue team, including a double. He had two RBI.
