Cudd picks up sole point at Meridian

Reid Cudd netted Mississippi Gulf Coast's only point Monday in an 8-1 loss at Meridian.

The Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1 MACJC) battled the flu and injuries against one of the top teams in the state.

Cudd (Fr, Wiggins/Stone) won his No. 6 singles match 6-2, 6-3 over Will Irvin. He and Brett Bowen (So, Oxford/Oxford) narrowly lost their No. 3 doubles match to Noah James and John Champion 9-8 (6).

Gulf Coast returns to action Thursday when Hinds visits the MGCCC Tennis Complex. Matches start at 1 p.m.
