4 Bulldogs earn All-MACCC

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast put five players on the All-MACCC Men's Soccer Team, led by midfielder Alexander Mink and defender Neko Worthy.

Those two Bulldogs earned First Team spots, with defender Stiward Palacios being named to the Second Team. Midfielder Tobias Buch received Honorable Mention honors.

Mink and Worthy are automatically named to the All-Region 23 Team, and they will be eligible for selection as NJCAA All-Americans.

Gulf Coast finished the season 11-6-1 and earned a playoff spot by finishing fourth in the conference.

Alexander Mink, First Team

Mink, a sophomore midfielder from Long Beach, earned his second selection to the top unit. An NJCAA All-American last year as a defender, he put together another fantastic season. He tied for fourth in the MACCC with 16 goals while adding a pair of assists. Mink had hat tricks against Georgia Military, Southwest Mississippi and East Mississippi.

Neko Worthy, First Team

Worthy, a sophomore defender from St. Martin, was a relentless left winger who earned his second All-MACCC award. He was an honorable mention defender last season and followed up with another great season. He had a goal and an assist, helping the Bulldogs put up the fourth-lowest goals-against average in the MACCC.

Stiward Palacios, Second Team

Palacios, a freshman defender from Medellin, Colombia, was a rock in central defense for Gulf Coast. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder scored a pair of towering header goals this year, helping backline a stout Bulldogs defense that allowed just 22 goals in 18 games.

Tobias Buch, Honorable Mention

Buch, a midfielder from Skovlunde, Denmark, moved up into the midfield in his second season with Gulf Coast. He finished with three goals and four assists, displaying a relentlessly competitive streak.
