Gulf Coast tied for first in opening tourney
The Mississippi Gulf Coast golf team is picking up right where it left off in the spring. The Bulldogs are tied for first after two rounds played Monday at the Wallace State Fall Invitational in Cullman, Ala.
Gulf Coast, which finished third in the NJCAA Division II National Championship, is tied with host Wallace State at the Cullman Golf Course, each team 11 under par. East Florida is in third, nine shots back.
The Bulldogs' Phillip Hickam is tied for third with a 6-under after shooting 70-68 Monday.
George Kawell is five shots further back, with Michael Hendrickson another one down. Grant Motter is at 145, followed by Colin Troxler at 146 and Wyatt Adkinson at 151.
