Gulf Coast leads field of four-year schools
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College leads a field of four-year schools by 10 strokes after the first two rounds of Christian Brothers' fall invitational golf tournament in Southaven.
The Bulldogs, ranked second in the nation, finished 2-over after a sizzling second round to pull ahead of second-place Delta State in the 10-team field at the North Creek Golf Course. The first two rounds were played Monday, with the final round being played Tuesday.
Colin Troxler is tied for second at 2-under, four shots behind Delta State's Alex Clark. Troxler is tied with Gulf Coast alum Conner Entriken, now golfing for William Carey.
The next two golfers in the standings are also from Gulf Coast, with Phillip Hickam second at 1-under and Grant Motter at 1-over. Troxler, Hickam and Motter fired identical 67s in the second round to lead the Bulldogs charge.
Wyatt Adkison (+10) is tied for 15th, and George Kawell is tied for 19th at 13-over.
