First doubleheader sweep for MGCCC baseball
MARION, AL---Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College used fundamental baseball in a 7-3, 6-1 road doubleheader sweep at Marion Military Tuesday. It's the first sweep of a twinbill this season for the Bulldogs (7-6).
Gulf Coast used six hits and took adavantage of three MMI errors to earn the victory in game one. Richie Clark went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI while James Land tripled and Jacob Swiney doubled at the plate. Adam Cagnina and Kyle Cumlander combined to strike out eight and hold MMI to three earned runs.
In the game two win, the Bulldogs made the most of eight hits, with two coming from lead-off batter Garrett Odom and three RBI coming from a Richie Clark double. Rayn Henry and Winston Wilson teamed up to earn the win on the mound.
The Bulldogs play again Mardi Gras day at home against Baton Rouge.
Tyler Quave had an RBI triple in the 7-3, game two win.
