Bulldogs lose twice to Bears

Mississippi Gulf Coast dropped a pair of road games Wednesday in Summit, falling 12-2 and 5-0 to Southwest Mississippi.

The Bulldogs (23-16, 8-10 MACCC) managed only four singles in the first game, which ended in seven innings. Jordan Davis (So., Neshoba/Neshoba Central) and Erimel Rosado (So., Dorado, Puerto Rico/Centennial) had RBI.

In the second game, Gulf Coast outhit Southwest 6-5 but left seven on base and couldn't capitalize on a pair of Bears errors. Brady Saxton (Fr., Brandon/Northwest Rankin) had two hits, and Naji Cain (So., Columbia/Columbia) tripled.

Southwest is 26-16, 10-8.

Gulf Coast is back on the road Saturday with a doubleheader in Booneville. First pitch in the doubleheader against Northeast Mississippi is set for 2 p.m.
