Felton’s 26 lead Bulldogs to opening win

Mississippi Gulf Coast's Taelar Felton picked up right where she left off last season, pouring in 26 points to lead the Bulldogs to an 85-42 win over Southern-Shreveport.
The teams opened the 2025-26 women's basketball season in Baton Rouge, and the Bulldogs gradually pulled away throughout the game.
Felton, a sophomore point guard from Clinton, had three 3-pointers in the second quarter on the way to a 17-point first half.
Ariana Peaglar (So., Hoover, Ala./Hoover) added 16 points, 11 of them in the first half, and Riley Bishop (Fr., Gulfport/Hancock) chipped in 10.
