Mississippi Gulf Coast won its second straight game to open the women's basketball season, outlasting host Baton Rouge 57-54 on the second day of the Lady Bears Classic.
Nautica Bouie (So., Panama City, Fla./Rutherford) led the Bulldogs with 16 points, and Taelar Felton (So., Clinton/Clinton) added 11.
Gulf Coast led by 12 at the end of the third quarter and held on against a furious Baton Rouge rally. The Bears are 0-2.
