Felton, Brinkley earn All-MACCC First Team honors

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Taelar Felton repeated as an All-MACCC First Team selection, and she was joined on the squad by Katelyn Brinkley.

The conference's coaches voted on the awards, which included eight on the first and second teams. The duo led Gulf Coast to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament semifinals.

Felton, a sophomore point guard from Clinton, averaged 16.1 points, which was the sixth-most in the league. She led the MACCC in free-throw shooting at 84.9 percent, making 90, which was the eighth-most among all players. She was ninth in steals (65) and 10th in 3-pointers made (39).

She averaged 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists.

Brinkley, a sophomore center from Ridgeland, averaged 13.1 points and 7.0 rebounds. That was the seventh-best rebounding average in the MACCC. She finished seventh in field-goal shooting (48.2 percent) and third in free-throw shooting (80.7 percent).
