Mississippi Gulf Coast took its first MACCC loss Thursday, falling 65-57 at Itawamba.
Taelar Felton (So., Clinton/Clinton) had 21 points to lead the Bulldogs, and Katelyn Brinkley (So., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) added 11.
Gulf Coast (14-4, 8-1 MACCC) remains in first place, a half-game ahead of Pearl River, which plays Saturday. Itawamba (16-7, 7-2) is tied with Meridian for third place.
The Bulldogs gave up 22 points in the first quarter and trailed by nine. They held ICC to seven in the second and trailed 29-23.
They could never get closer than that in the second half. Nautica Bouie (So., Panama City, Fla./Rutherford) cut the deficit to 59-53 with 3:20 to play, but ICC got a pair of layups to ice the game.
