Mississippi Gulf Coast lost in three sets Wednesday to Pearl River, falling 25-18, 25-21, 25-17.
The Bulldogs (16-13, 7-8 MACCC) had a three-match win streak snapped. Pearl River is now 23-10, 11-4.
The top eight teams from the MACCC advance to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, which begins Oct. 29. The top four teams host before the final four teams advance to play in Ellisville beginning on Nov. 1.
Gulf Coast, which is in sixth place, closes out regular-season play Monday when Jones, which has clinched the top spot, visits Dantzler Arena. The match starts at 5 p.m., and it will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
