No. 13 Men’s Tennis rolls past No. 14 Bevill State

No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast closed out the men's tennis regular season Friday with a dominant win over No. 14 Bevill State.

The Bulldogs beat the Bears 8-1 in Jasper, Ala., to improve to 10-6 overall.

"We've been battling different injuries with lineup changes and doubles partner changes the last month or so," Gulf Coast coach Sam Blackburn said. "These guys have been unified as a team, and that's a great team win today. It was really fun for me to see them play together. They were very tough mentally and physically."

Gulf Coast will be the second seed in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, which will start April 16 at Ellisville.

The Bulldogs set the tone by taking all three doubles courts. Warren Hudson (Fr., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) bounced back from dropping the first set in his No. 3 singles match to win, as did Cree Cunningham (Fr., Wiggins/Stone) at No. 6.
