Kaitlin Lee signs with Ole Miss
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast pitcher Kaitlin Lee signed a softball scholarship with Ole Miss on Tuesday at the school.
Lee went 19-4 with a 1.85 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 151 innings last year, helping lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 46-13 season that included MACJC and Region 23 championships. She also batted .369.
"She's a special player. She's got the tools to be a good pitcher but pushes herself to be a great pitcher," Gulf Coast softball coach Kenneth Long said." I think the pitching coach there is going to be good for her. Coach Christie Meeks has helped her a lot at this level, but I think the pitching coach there will take her to a different level."
Lee came back from scary facial fractures suffered while batting in a game at Jones on March 30. She returned less than a month later and went 9-1 down the stretch.
