Lady Bulldogs remain No. 3 in latest NJCAA poll
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast is ranked No. 3 in the latest Mariucci Sports NJCAA Division II Softball Poll.
The Lady Bulldogs (33-3, 17-3 MACJC) swept a doubleheader from No. 4 East Central on Tuesday in Decatur, but the poll did not take into account those games.
There could be movement in the poll next week. In Top 5 action Tuesday, No. 1 LSU-Eunice lost to Lamar State-Port Arthur and No. 2 Phoenix was tied at 12 with No. 18 Pima in the seventh inning when the game was suspended.
Gulf Coast is in second in the MACJC, one game behind No. 8 Jones. The Lady Bulldogs return to action Friday when Mississippi Delta visits Ross-Smith Field in Perkinston. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
