No. 3 MGCCC opens MACJC Tourney at 4 Friday
PERKINSTON – The schedule for the MACJC Softball Tournament has been release, and No. 3 Mississippi Gulf Coast, the defending champion, opens play Friday in Ellisville at 4 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs (43-3) will play No. 7 Itawamba (39-8) in the tournament opener. The winner of that game will advance to the winners' bracket to face the winner of No. 5 Jones (39-6) vs. East Central (42-7).
The top three teams from the tournament will advance to the Region 23 Tournament to be held at LSU-Eunice on May 5-7. One win in the state tournament will qualify teams for that tournament.

Game 1: No 2 Gulf Coast vs. No. 3 Itawamba, 4 p.m.
Game 2: No.1 Jones vs. No. 4 East Central, 6 p.m.
Saturday
Game 3: Game 1 winner and Game 2 winner, 2 p.m.
Game 4: Game 1 loser and Game 2 loser, 4 p.m.
Game 5: Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 winner, 6 p.m.
Sunday
Game 6: Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner, 2 p.m.
Game 7: Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 winner, if necessary, 4 p.m.
