Parish earns 3rd MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Duran Parish did it all last week, leading Gulf Coast to a 2-0 week. That's earned him MACCC Player of the Week honors for the third time.
The sophomore point guard from Biloxi controlled the game in two wins for Gulf Coast, averaging 28.0 points, 8.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals. MACCC sports information voted on the award.
Parish had 29 points while shooting 5-for-7 from the arc in an 85-68 win over Mississippi Delta, narrowly missing a double-double with nine assists. In a 97-69 win at East Mississippi, Parish had 27 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals. He averaged 60 percent on 3-point attempts for the week.
He's now eligible for NJCAA weekly honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
