Parish, Hinton named All-MACCC
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Duran Parish was named to the All-MACCC First Team for the second time, and Matthew Hinton earned a spot on the second team.
The conference's coaches voted on the awards, which included eight on the first and second teams.
Parish, a sophomore point guard from Biloxi who also earned the award in 2023-24, finished second in the league in scoring at 20.8 points per game, which was 14th-highest in the country. He led the MACCC with 62 steals and was third in assists with 158, which was 19th in the NJCAA.
Parish also finished sixth in made free throws (145) and ninth in 3-point shooting (38.6 percent). He received one vote for Player of the Year.
Hinton, a sophomore center from Atlanta, Ga., shot 62.8 percent from the field, the fourth-highest mark in the conference. He had 37 blocks, which ranked eighth.
Hinton averaged 10.9 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
